    Good times on bikes

Saturday was a bit soggy unfortunately. Still, a nice group of riders got some hard miles in. Maybe starting in the dark was a good idea. Hard to be scared of impending rain if you can’t see it.

I’ve had the chance to meet a pretty good cross section of folks at endurance races the past few years. For the most part, it’s a great group. People who really enjoy being on their bikes, seeing new places, and testing themselves against others in a friendly way. Some of these riders were game for a little abuse here this weekend. What was I to do but attempt to provide some quality Moab suffering. The weather pitched in.

Some highlights from the ride were primetime aka slyfox shrugging off all the sarcastic comments on his gear choices and crushing (think riding 90 miles of tough Moab terrain with ~75oz of water and 1.8 tires!). Local riders Mike H and Craig T were riding strongly and looking good. Kevin G of CO rode a SS Turner (you read that right - he lost the derailleur on the ride) over Little Canyon Rim, Gold Bar Rim, and the Portal trail! Part time local Randy M was pedaling (pedaling, pedaling, and only pedaling!) his fixed KM very strongly. Lot’s more too..
All in all a nice day to be on a bike with good folks. I can’t wait for the next time.

    Fred
