How do I get the “www-dot-com” name in the first place?
What you’re looking for is called a “domain name”, and it’s the starting point for any website. Click here and learn more. By setting this up on your own, you not only learn how, but are in total control of your website’s domain name, or more specifically, URL. Once you’ve got a domain name, you’ll need a place to store the files that we create, and will eventually become, your website. That is called “web hosting” (see next question)
Once my website is built, how do I get it online?
“Web hosting” is provided many ways; we believe using a powerful, major hosting provider is important. We’ll help you setup hosting, and leave you in control of it as well. You’ll pay around $8-$15 a month, and NOT to us, but directly to the provider. We could easily make money on this but choose not to. Ask us about it, and why we recommend Yahoo Small Business Hosting – especially if you are trying to break the bonds of your current “webmaster”
