Designing Your Site With Adobe Flash

First introduced in 1996 by Macromedia, Adobe Flash has come a long way. Adding Flash elements to your website can add just a little movement or color change to a logo or graphic, play music and video, have hidden mouse-overs, or even add interactivity like a chat room.

It’s even possible to build an entire website in Flash with stunning effects.

Note: Normally you wouldn’t have this many Flash features on one page, because it could slow things down.

In the example below, Flash was used to create a light (81KB) file with animation, a link, mouseover, and close-out animation. Clicking takes you to the home page. Test it! Use your “back” button to return to this page.

In the example below, a video clip was used to create a cool overall effect. Reload

Flash can be used many, many ways, but one of the most requested is for the Flash animated website header. Similar to the one you see on this site (this one is a simpler Javascript version), an animated header can simply scroll images, or have wild buttons, amazing animations, or even short video clips for great effects. Here’s an example.

These are just a few examples! At right is a list of some of our clients, where you can see Flash in action. To see a “Full Flash” website example, another type of build option, click here.
